Dynamic Spot Size Control
High-performance laser cutting often requires a programmable control of the kerf width during a single cut. ALE 990084 satisfies that requirement by introducing a dynamic spot size adjustment based on a remotely controlled variability of the collimating lens position. Total adjustment range is ±6 mm with 4 nm resolution. A theoretical curve serves as an example of a programmable adjustment of the kerf width from a nominal value of 10 μm (for 0.01-mm SM fiber and 1:1 lens system).
